A 47-year-old Detroit man, Anthony Carl Bowden, walked into the Strawberry Moon Bakery at noon on Friday, Sept. 3. Apparently, Bowden stole money from the store's register and ran out the door, followed by a 20-year-old employee. Bowden jumped into a getaway car and the employee suffered minor injuries to his leg when he was dragged by the car a short distance across the parking lot.
A witness who saw the employee chase Bowden out of the store followed the getaway car and called the Ferndale Police. The police were able to catch up to Bowden and arrest him. He is being held on a $25,000 cash bond and faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted.
