W.J. Maloney Plumbing Earns Small Business Enterprise Certification

SBE to Take Place of WBE Program

W.J. Maloney Plumbing Co., Inc. has announced that it has earned the Small Business Enterprise (SBE) certification from the City of Phoenix Equal Opportunity Department. The company is certified in the following areas: commercial and residential plumbing services, and as a supplier of plumbing equipment.

The SBE certification takes the place of the Equal Opportunity Department's Women-Owned Business Enterprise (WBE) program.

Companies with the SBE designation are firms located in Maricopa County that have been operational for at least six months and have owners whose personal net worth is less than $750,000. To be certified, SBE firms must pass a Universal Certification Program (UCP).

As a certified SBE, W.J. Maloney Plumbing may be used to satisfy small business subcontracting goals on selected public works contracts awarded by the city. SBE certification is valid on all contracts bid by the City of Phoenix that specify the use of SBE certified subcontractors.
