Famous Barbecue Restaurant Doesn't Disappoint

I associate Wolf's Bar-B-Q with two things: great barbecue and family gatherings. Although the Evansville, Indiana, restaurant is far from my home, I've eaten there with family after weddings, funerals, and other get-togethers over the years.

Wolf's BarBQ History

Wolf's Barbecue has been in Evansville for quite awhile; since 1925 in fact. It was founded by meat wholesaler Nicholas Wolf. Wolf's specializes in pies, and - of course - barbecue. You can choose from barbecue pork, chicken, or beef.

Eating at Wolf's BarBQ

At Wolf's, you can order from the menu, where you'll have your choice of barbecue ribs, or barbecue meat in sauce. I have many memories of family members eating those ribs! Never a fan of "meat on the bone," however, I always (happily!) opted for the meat in sauce.

Not a barbecue fan? Don't despair; Wolf's also has chicken dinners and catfish.

On my latest visit, during a weekday lunchtime, there was a buffet available. The buffet featured various types of - you guessed it - barbecued meats, and also homestyle mac 'n cheese, green beans, and corn. There was a salad bar as well, and desserts could be purchased separately. All the food I ate looked fresh and tasted delicious.

Wolf's Service

During my visits, I have always been impressed by Wolf's service. The servers are attentive, filling our glasses when needed. They also went a step beyond in our case. We had a large group all on one check, and the server brought our bill along with a frequent diner's card, which she had punched for each of the several buffets we purchased. We filled a card, and she credited this to our bill. Very thoughtful!

Catering, Shipping

Wolf's BarBQ also caters events from 5 to 5,000 people. They even ship their meats - and believe me, you would enjoy them. Check their website for more details.

If you are in the Evansville area, treat yourself to a meal at Wolf's. You'll be glad you did!
