Woman who beat Ferndale house with bat is charged

A woman who used a baseball bat to attempt to break into her ex-boyfriend's home was charged in the 43rd District Court in Ferndale. Apparently, the woman, who is from Detroit, also had a stun gun and her two children with her. She was charged with a weapons possession charge that carries a maximum four-year sentence and a malicious destruction misdemeanor, which carries a potential one-year sentence.

The incident occurred shortly after 4 p.m. on a Sunday when the woman showed up unexpectedly at her ex-boyfriend's home. The resident called police, who arrived to find the woman standing in front of the home and holding the bat. According to the police report, the woman had become angry when she found out her ex-boyfriend had a woman in the house. She then used the bat to beat on the house, breaking the door and front window. Once the damage was done, she tried to climb in through the window.
