Well, she must have been really thirsty. Her faucets weren't working? No beverages in the fridge? Legally speaking the sump pump guy could press charges against her because she drank out of one of his containers without permission. That is called stealing, even though it was in her house. It was his property.
Where is this woman's common sense? What was she thinking? I'm thirsty so I am going to take a drink out of one of the containers without asking permission? The article did not say which containers she took a drink out of but I am going to guess probably the ginger ale container. Still she should have asked permission. I sure hope Miss Gabrysiak does not get lost in a desert or a forest somewhere and has to survive on her wits. She would not last very long. Oh, look at those delicious berries I'll think I'll eat one. I can understand a kid doing this but not a grownup. A kid does not know any better.
To make things worse, she is not even going to take responsibility for her actions. I don't know the exact nature of the lawsuit, but I can guess. The sump pump man should have warned me about those bottles containing battery acid. Or he should have put a "Warning: battery acid" label on the containers. She thinks to herself. I guess anymore you cannot take anything for granted. If you are doing a job for someone in their house and have unlabeled poisonous liquids you better tell the person not to drink the liquids or else you'll get sued.
One other thing to think about. This lady would be covered under any Universal National Health Care plan. Remember, she had to go to the hospital.
