Woman Sues Planned Parenthood for Failed Abortion

Jennifer Raper's Abortion Wasn't 'successful,' and Now She Wants Money

Jennifer Raper, who lives in Boston, MA, has filed a lawsuit against two doctors and Planned Parenthood seeking damages and funds to raise her now two-year-old daughter.

Jennifer Raper, 45, found out she was pregnant in March 2004. For "financial reasons" she decided to have an abortion and in April the abortion was performed, but Jennifer remained pregnant; she gave birth to a daughter in December of that year.

There is so much wrong with this I don't know where to begin...

One would think that at Jennifer's mature age, she would know about responsible choices and prevention: birth control. Isn't she ultimately accountable for the actions which caused her daughter to be conceived?

Jennifer, even after remaining pregnant, didn't have to be burdened with the costs associated with raising her daughter. One viable and compassionate alternative was adoption; there are thousands of families that would have been all too happy to raise her daughter, costs and all.

In the future, what kind of effect will it have on this little girl to know that her mom deemed her so unwanted, that she first tried to destroy her, and then sued because she gasp dared to be born?

The message would appear that she wasn't loved enough even for the financial sacrifice associated with raising her. A sacrifice loving parents are grateful to shoulder because the payoff is priceless: love.

Not only that, but Jennifer Raper may not be fit to be a mother. If she first tried to snuff the life from her daughter and then felt resentful at the financial obligation associated with raising her, why should someone else be responsible for rewarding her financially? Jennifer Raper did not have to be saddled with child-rearing costs. Again, adoption was available. Another option, which would be entirely reasonable, is that the little girl should sue her mother for attempted murder.

In an ideal world, Jennifer Raper's little girl would be placed in a home where her life would always be valued, wanted, loved and nurtured in ways that Jennifer Raper and her selfish greed could never fulfill.

Children, after all, deserve it.

Many babies survive attempted abortions. Gianna Jessen, now 29-years-old, survived an attempt to abort her by saline injection when her mother was 7-1/2 months pregnant. Gianna is now an outspoken pro-life activist.
