Woman's Journey

Penny White
The woman who looks straight ahead
is not guilty of tunnel vision. Instead,
she is guilty of perception:
clear
undiluted perception.
She sees where she is going,
instead of focusing on where she has been.

She does not stumble when she is met
with obstacles. These obstacles
are merely stepping stones
she uses
to get what she wants.
Once past them, she is
a stronger woman for having overcome them.

Diversions upon her path she will surely
encounter. As surely
as she keeps her goal
in view
never wavering from true desires.
Follow diversions she must; they only
serve to remind her of what is real.

And once she reaches that which she has
kept in her sights all along;
Then, and only then, can she look back
in wonder and amazement
at the journey she has taken.
