Women Exploitation in Television

In Indian society women has always been seen as Devi or one who is pious .But today's TV soaps have portrayed very negative way. As if she is the one who is responsible for all the problems in house, as a vamp and she has been exploited physically in most of the recent TV soaps. Which is a very wrong, even today Indian woman still retains her chastity, inspite of her western influence.

Negative Character
In recent times TV channels have been in boom in India, each and every month we come across one or another new Channels . With this most of the TV soaps the story are build around women character and she has been portrayed as one who breaks the house or family. She is shown as a person who manipulates whole situation for some business benefits or due to old venegence and she is even portrayed as a vamp. She changes man after man as one changes cloth when women go to a marriage party. This is not correct. This way portraying women some times confuse the young viewers, these young mind is being polluted and women in normal life is not believed by her friends or family members. Doing any thing in excess always results in destruction which is in this case image of women.

Exploitation
Women dress slowly started sinking, she is being put either very tight jeans with small tops. Young viewer seeing those dress try to copy it in real life and they fall pray to eve teasing and other related problems. Most of talk shows the female host wear such indecent dress it has became difficult to sit with family members.

Advertisements
In advertisements she is being shown as a sex symbol. Her body is being over exposed without any reason. This is giving a negative impact on the image of women. She is being unnecessarily exposed in ads. They are also using double meaning words, which is incorrect.

Health disorder
In most mass media and TV female health products and dress are being done by models, who have a god given physique. When viewed by normal females or ladies and these women when try to become as a model creates many health disorders.

Laughter shows
In laughter shows she is subject in most vulgar way. Jokes should be used in comical situation and the language should not cross its line of conrol. But here too her image tarnished. Just for sake of laughter we should not play with the respect and image of women.

The bottom line is that a woman in Indian society commends respect and admiration. She is being adored and respected from time immoral. But the small screen for sake of entrainment is responsible for women's image for being tarnished for the benefit of few. TV is being view widely from villages to major cities and also viewed by all. When women are being portrayed in this way it is giving negative impact on young minds, which is damaging our society.
