Women and Heart Disease

Heart disease, a common disease to attack man in the world is now believed to strike equally between men and women.

As the old saying, as a woman I believe that I will not be attack by heart disease as easily as a man. So I do not pay any precautions against it. Until today I read an article about heart disease attacking women and I start to be conscious and anxious about it. As I have the genetic of heart disease I believe I need to put in extra effort to prevent it.

Women are protecting from heart disease because of the women hormone, estrogen. This hormone will provides some protection from heart disease. But, women who are infected from diabetes will lose the protection.

Women will be equally exposing to heart disease after menopause as the hormone estrogen level will decline. So, the risk of having heart disease will be equal between men and women after the age of 60. So women need to be extra careful of heart disease after the menopause.

There are some useful tips to maintain a healthy heart.

Maintaining a balance meal is the best way to protect your heart. Balance meal which include vegetables, fruits, low fat products, fish or lean meat which is steam, boil or grill. Try to maintain a healthy and balance meal everyday. Make sure there are at least three to five serving of fruits and vegetable daily. Control your consumption of salt. Make sure there is no consumption of excess salt in your daily meal.

Fat consumption need to be control in order for your healthy heart. Fats are all high in calories and over consumption of fat will lead to high risk of blood cholesterol. But fat consumption should not be totally inhibiting from your diet. Choose to include unsaturated fat in your diet. Unsaturated fat are normally found in fish, nuts, seeds, plant oil.

To maintain a healthy heart, regular exercises need to be practice everyday. You can organize more outdoor family activities. Add at least a thirty minute daily activities in your day to day chores. You can practice it through habit by choose to walk up using staircase instead of taking the lift.

Go for a regular check up if you have a family history of heart attack. If you are feeling unwell for your heart, refer to your health professional as early as possible .Do not hesitate and wait for check up.

Maintain your weight will help to reduce heart disease. Overweight and obesity candidates will have the highest probability of getting heart disease. Get your ideal weight by calculating your BMI. Consult professional advice for safe and effective way of weight loss.

Smoking is the major risk of heart disease. Quit smoking if you are a smoker. Make your house a smoke free area and avoid experiencing tobacco smoke anywhere else. Quitting smoke can help to reduce the blood clotting level and also decreases the chances of blood vessel blockage.
