Chile
Michelle Bachelet Jeria, the first woman president of Chile. She won the presidential election in 2006 on the platform of bridging the gap between rich and poor, while continuing Chile's free market trade. Chile is part of Latin America and it's capital being Santiago. The mother tongue is Spanish even though English is widely spoken by many natives.
Finland's president is the head of the state and is officially known as the Republic of Finland. Tarja Halonen was elected in March of 2008 in what was called the race of her life. She is the first female President of Finland and was elected for a second term in 2006. Other interesting fact about Finland including, Helsinki is Finland's capital and it's largest city which is located at the mouth of the Golf of Bothina and borders Sweden to the west. The language spoke is Finnish or Suomi however, many other languages by the natives including Russian.
Germany's Angela Merkel is the first female Prime Minister that assumed the role of Chacellor of Germany in 2005. She is also the chairperson of the G8 summit. Angel Merkel is an extreme articulate leader with several political accomplishments to her name including heading up 8 leaders of the free world to pledge $60 billion to combat aids, malaria and tuberculosis in Africa.
Germany is located in central Europe bordering the Baltic Sea, Netherlands and Poland. It's capital is Berlin and population is over 82 million people.
The Philippines Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo calls herself the "anti drug czar". She is the President of the Philippines since 2001, her goal is to eradicate drug trafficking out of the country.The capital of the Philippines is Manila and it's population is a little over 86 million. Filipino is based on Tagalog which is the official language used though English and Spanish are commonly used.
Liberia's president Ellen Johnson has been President of her country since January 2006. The seventy year old is often called the'Iron Lady" due to the fact she is the first female head of state. Liberia is located on the west coast of Africa , the population is over 3.5 million, The capital is called Monrovia after the US president James Monrovia that helped free the slaves. The official language is called Liberian English which is more of a dialect involving the English language mixed with a few Liberian slangs.
Iceland
After former Prime Minister Haade disbanded his country in January 2009 Johana Siguroardottir was elected as interim Prime minister until a new election is called in May 2009. Siguroardittir has had a long career in politics has just finished serving as Minister of Social Affairs. Despite the country's uphevel she had taken the leadership with great confidence. She is the first openly gay female leader to run a country.
It has been stated that women make great leaders due to the fact that they multitask, sensitive to peoples need and are natural peacemakers. These traits allow them to understand a nation's requirement and resolve problems at it's core.
