Women: Plus Sized Clothing for Spring and Summer 2010

Rebecca Furtado
Winter and fall may seem like the best time for plus sized fashion .It could be farther from the truth. Express your peppy and new outlook on the new season with spring and summer clothes that will wow your friends and family. Layers are great to stay warm; but even plus sized women have curves and cleavage they should not be afraid to show. It is a matter of good taste. Invest in a full sized mirror; and look at the front, side, and back. If it shows your curves and not rolls of fat then go for the outfit that shows your large girly figure.

Vests are in this spring and you can cover the arm flab but show a little cleavage with a lower cut shirt. How well your cleavage looks depends a lot on your bra. Spend less on the shirt and more on the bra and it will solve some of your problems. Accessorize with the chucky jewelry that is in this spring but let it draw attention to your chest and not away from it.

This winter even in the discount stores new lines of slimming boy shorts and camisoles were making the scene. You no longer have to wear bike shorts under that shorter skirt to hide the stomach roll. A lot of the new camisole tops have built in underwire bras. There is no excuse to be saggy these days. They have great new undergarments to pull it all up and in. This means that pencil pants and tighter skirts can be worn by all. Legging type pants with flares at the bottom with empire waist tops are in. Empire waist can make a short waited women look pregnant. Go for a peasant type shirt instead and you can still have that fun frilly look without people eyeing your stomach.

Short fun dresses can be worn this spring over Capri cut leggings. Again short legged girls might look like their cut off in these kinds of leggings, but going for a lighter colored legging can minimize this effect. Leggings make short skirts look more acceptable to wear many more places and leggings with stretch fabrics will automatically slim your legs.

Shorts vs. Capri are also a sore point for plus sized gal. You don't want to look like you escaped from the trailer park, but you don't want to constantly be worrying about ill fitting shorts riding up. Walking shorts are a good compromise. Capri cut leggings work as well. Still I love Capri pants and wear them because they compliment my legs.

Swim suits are an issue as well. Skip trendy and go with what t works for you. You may not be in style at the pool, but you can look acceptable and not run around wrapped in a towel to cover things that are hanging out.
