Is a New Coach for the Redskins Beneficial?

Tijuanna Simon
With an embarrassing loss to the Detroit Lions on their record, the Redskins believe that firing Coach Jim Zorn would not be the best thing for the team right now. Detroit finally ended their 19 game losing streak to the Washington Redskins on Sunday. With that being said, is Redskins' coach Jim Zorn walking on eggshells?

The question is, does it really matter if they get a new coach now or should they wait until the end of the season? For instance, Tampa Bay fired Coach Jon Gruden who took the team to the Superbowl during the 2002 football season. But out of 16 games per season, the most that Tampa Bay has won is 11 games in one season in the past 6 years since their Superbowl win. Gruden was then replaced by the Buccaneers defensive coordinator, Raheem Morris who has started the team off with 0-3 record so far for the 2009 season.

Will it really be that difficult for the team to adjust to a new head coach? From watching the players answer questions in the postgame interviews, they doubt the future of their performance themselves. Faithful football followers believe that we should look at the big picture, which is the team's chemistry, the chemistry amongst the coaches, and the effort that the players are giving while playing on the field.

Can they get any worse? Of course they can! But with only 3 games played so far, they can possibly get a new coach and become much better! How ironic that they are going to be playing against Tampa Bay in their next game...will this be the straw that breaks the camel's back? Tell me what you think.
