Women and Their Love for Vampires

No More Vampires Hunting Women - Women Are Now Hunting Vampires!

Sarah Wood
Each year we see new trends appear that people can't get enough of . One year it was "Pink is the new black!" , another year "less is more". The last couple of years it has been "Fanged and Fantastic!" Why the attraction to Vampires all the sudden? These other worldly beings just so happen to know what makes a woman tick.

Surveying the latest on air content of vampires, there is one common thread throughout them all. These vampires love intently and are fiercely protective. They all have obscene amounts of money accruing from years of investments and inventions. How could a woman not fall in love with a man who loved her with more passion than she had ever experienced? What woman would turn away protection that was at her finger tips through just one thought?

Bill Compton was my introduction into the world of vampires. I watched season one of True Blood and saw this man who could be at his lover's beck and call with just one emotion, one whisper. Bill loves Sookie and because Sookie has had some of his blood and vice versa, their emotional ties are like steel threads. When Sookie has one twinge of fear or negative feeling, Bill is alerted immediately through his senses and is at her side in a heart beat to protect her and make it right. He's good at it , too.

Here we have this huge media storm and fascination of vampires and their girlfriends, who are almost always human. Twilight fell right into the category with its very human Bella and gorgeous , protective Edward. Teens became entranced with this story because the example that Edward sets is rarely found in our real world where we deal with teen pregnancy and violent relationships. These girl's are ready to sign up for a super protective boyfriend who has a life long dedication and eyes only for them.

As women begin to read these books and watch these shows, they can't help but put themselves in the lead character's place. The lead character is pretty relatable, after all it is a female human. A man who can give two hundred years experience in a kiss and meet all of your financial needs? (those stocks and bonds have paid off over two hundred years) That is the man I'd sign up for! The sexuality of the vampire is a trait that it has owned from the beginning of it's legacy. They are very sensual, can control your feelings, your thoughts, and make you have desires you never knew existed. That isn't to say that they shouldn't come with a giant, flashing warning sign, however. They really should.

Not all vampires, of course, have this commitment to the human girl. The nemesis in many of these story lines is the vampire wanting said human girl for lunch. So again, we are showing that these vampires are unique , special, and fascinating.

So, what woman would not want a man that was completely into her, totally protective and had expert skills in the romance department? Women today are searching for romance , lust and the feeling like they are the only one in someone's eyes. These vampire characters certainly provide that pay off, and then some. Where do I sign up for one?
