Women in Trucking

I am a woman truck driver and have been for 12 years. I have been around trucks most of my life and can't imagine doing anything else. I have 2 sons and 4 grandchildren that keep me occupied when I'm home. Being on the road has been a challenge but I wouldn't have it any other way. I have recently decided to come off the road for awhile and drive local. I want to spend more time with my family.

I have traveled all 48 states, from coast to coast. It has been a great experience and I've seen things I thought I never would. I've seen the seasons change in New England and got paid for it. That was really the best part, to travel all over the country and get paid to do it.

The income has help me stay independent and have a good lifestyle. I have heard stories of women who have had problems in different parts of the country, New York, Las Angeles, Chicago, but I never have. Every where I have been has been an adventure and I have met people from all over the world.

I have delt with every culture, every race, every religion and all ages. Most all that I have met have been interesting to talk to as well as all the places I've been. In future articles I well tell you where I've been and some of my experiences.
