Women in the Workplace

May
Nowadays, women have penetrated the once male-domain work offices and headquarters. I can however say that though women have come far and are making progress in that area, we cannot say that women have entirely conquered the workplace. Differences nevertheless between then and now are notable. For example, it was believed that woman will only make excellent workers if a job is cut up and given to them in the plate, that they never had the initiative to find work themselves. Now, I've observed that more and more women are pushing those initiative levels to the max and would even go far as walking from one building to another just to find a job.

Not only that. Before, women are limited to positions such as being the office secretary, nurse and other "women jobs". Now, women have a place in the management and even have men as subordinates.

The shift of women from being an entirely domesticated gender to a working one, led to an extensive revolution of the traditional policies and practices not only in the workplace but also in families. According to some very reliable resources, women's interest in working surged up from the fact that the economy is now becoming more complex and thus, additional income is needed as family members began to ask for extended products and services that a father cannot afford.

Well, I say one good reason why women opted to work nowadays is the rampant number of marriages ending in divorce. Though ex-husbands are legally committed to provide for their children after divorce, the alimony that they give may not be enough and certainly, mothers cannot rely solely in child-support, thus, they have to go out and work.

This goes the same for single mothers who are left to support their child solely without the aid of the child's father. Today however, women had come to see "working" as a natural and standard path to take after earning their degree; for why study when you can't apply the learning at work?
