A case in point is published right here in our beloved Associated Content, within the article titled Ten of the Most Fascinating Writers on Associated Content for 2007. Nine of the ten fascinating writers are male. Granted, each writer is professional and articulate in his own right. However, it begs the question: "Does this mean 9 out of 10 fascinating writers on the AC are consistently male?"
Of course not. The author of said article above has proven her writing professionalism among the most fascinating on the Associated Content over and over again. It is time to recognize the wondrous women writers of the AC, beginning with Charlotte Kuchinsky. Not only is she the author of Ten Fascinating Writers on Associated Content in 2007, Charlotte is most fascinating in her unique research of ancient myths and little-known historic and natural wonders. One cannot resist temptation to join her in discovering the mysteries of the unknown, with: "Uncovering an Irish Hero: Chuchulainn" and "Exploring the Myth of the Phoenix." She tells stories on the AC as if she is sitting at a campfire. Her talent is unsurpassed, yet she denied her own worth in the analysis of her fascinating writers on Associated Content for 2007. Let it be known here and now that Charlotte is worthy as a top notch wondrous woman writer to watch on the AC in 2008.
Shamontiel is selective and timely in her publications submitted to Associated Content. She practices sincere and direct journalism in treating sensitive issues with insightful detail. Shamontiel is a most subscription-worthy AC writer, addressing everything from HIV/AIDs to fashion statements, mySpace Stalkers,to HipHop: Opportunity for Society's Disadvantaged, and even movie reviews like the Great Debaters.
The Women Writers to Watch on the AC in 2008 list could not begin or end without our beloved Michy. Otherwise known as Michelle L Devon, you haven't read Associated Content if you haven't read her. Michy "is" the AC. Her competence shines in her writing, comments, and in her activity on the forum. One has no doubt when she speaks in jest or in serious professional concern. To categorize Michy's writing is to attempt to cage a tiger. Her style could not be more eclectic, or more skilled. Her current article, "ADD and ADHD: Learning Disorders or Sociological Shift?" has only been on the AC a few days, yet has pages of commentary already. Michy's work often stirs thought and emotion in her readership, just as every writer hopes their work will. She is definitely a Woman Writer of the AC to Watch in 2008.
Another is Kassidy Emmerson. She has thousands of articles published on the internet. If a product has just one review or twenty, chances are Kassidy's name appears as a reviewer. Check her out. Her latest product review is 'udderly' perfect for the dry skin issues brought on by winter weather, at "Health and Wellness Product Review: Udderly Smooth Udder Cream." Kassidy should be on udderly every internet reader's subscription list.
The next two Women Writers to Watch on the AC in 2008 are halfway across the United States from one another. Yet, both have faced insurmountable struggles, and write from the heart in sharing those most personal of experiences, with strength, courage and light. They are Sheila Webster-Heard and Robbie Tittle:
If there were an award in the "Kingdom of Writing Moms," the heiress to the crown of "Queen Writer Mom of the Midwest" is Sheila Webster-Heard for her grace and talent in all she shares on the AC and in her books. Her article, ""Free (Well, Almost Free) Picture Cards for Autistic Children," addresses communication issues for children and families dealing with Austim and Asperger Syndrome daily struggles. Sheila Webster-Heard is also a most amazing writer of fiction, essays and poetry - and of a surprise, fun fascination with tornadoes, in her two part work: Chicago's Wicked Weather - Tornado!!
Robbie Tittle is a young wife and mother, who draws on her creative vision and deep experiences to share marvelous photography and writing. Her articles and poetry cover a variety of timely topics and heartfelt stories, wrapping around the reader like an old favorite blanket. Robbie is a writer's writer. She laid-open her personal wounds in the poem, "Death and Sorrow: Always Missing You in Every Tomorrow." Then, as the true professional she is, Robbie immediately and playfully frolicked with her readers in "Oregon Coast Aquarium: Hosting a Halloween Sleepover for Kids." Robbie is the "Queen Writer Mom of the Pacific Northwest", moving forward in grace.

One humble, yet most prolific AC writer is Tricia Goss. A quiet leader and most professional writing mentor on the AC, Tricia's publications appear beyond the Associated Content online family, as do many of the Women Writers to Watch on the AC in 2008. Tricia's appeal is far-reaching, just like her life. She and her husband share a life of adventure on the road in his big-rig. He's a truck driver and she is very much a part of his trucking world. A favorite Tricia Goss article is difficult to choose. However, most recently she shared amazing advice in her column, "Give Your Child a Positive Outlook on Working." Since working is a necessary part of life, unless a lottery winner or trust fund endowed, this article is a must for anyone having young people in their lives, family or friends. Tricia Goss is a must-read.
Khara House "embraces the risk of risking," as she says of herself. What's not to love about such a writer? I often forward her published works to college students I know, because her words speak to college survival tactics, without being preachy or trite. One article finding constant new readership is "College Virgins - Tackling the Question: To Do It or Not to Do It?" She just might be the college-scene's version of "Dear Abby!"
Renee Bodkin's expertise in education shines through in her AC writing. She shares insights on topics ranging from parenting to crafts, and she even braves the topic of politics. Her article, "Overview of Asperger Syndrome Signs and Symptoms," is a brilliant combination of her writing talent, educator professionalism, and parental compassion. She speaks to us all in a way we can relate, even those of us not of her expertise.
Foodie might be an understatement regarding the next Woman Writer to Watch on the AC in 2008. Amy Brantley confesses she adores everything about food, and reading her AC works confirms the theory well. Kitchen gadgets and the foods that go with them are often the subjects of Amy's vast array of AC reviews. Thankfully, Amy is also a health-conscious foodie. One of her most recent articles, "Make Weight Watcher's Part of Your New Year's Resolution," speaks right to the heart of Amy's Associated Content loyal subscribers.
Destiny is a newcomer to the AC already ranked at a Clout 5 and climbing fast. She is not afraid to address controversial and religious issues. Her timely and thorough treatment of current issues, such as her article, "I am a Victim of Identity Theft," is very telling of the personal, yet professional style readers can expect from Destiny as she grows in her role as an AC Woman Writer to Watch on the AC in 2008.
Donna Porter has been publishing on the internet since 1993. She glides between the comical and the tragically serious subject matter with the grace and poise that make her one of the AC's top mentor writers of all. If you read just one sample of Women Writers to Watch on the AC in 2008, click here: 'Twas The Night Before Christmas: AC Writer's Rendition" Donna's tongue-in-cheek tale sets the pace for 2008 on the AC.
Pam Gaulin is easily the 'top ten' story writer queen of the AC! If you have never smiled from a Pam's top ten list, then you have missed the whole point of a good portion of the AC! One cannot resist a peek temptation at her 'top tens" - most recently the new-year-resolution-binding Top Ten Diets for Quick Weight Loss, and the curious Ten Ridiculously Useful Ways to Recycle Nut Shells .
To take one's own advice, I submit. . . me, Herstory. On a whim, I submitted my first few stories to the AC. To my surprise, they won the AC's "My Best Mistake" and "Double 100" contests. My lifelong writing seed took root, grew, and continues blossoming through The People's Media Company publishing network and friendship forum. Watch for updates on health issues and the Greensburg Tornado, among other topics coming soon.
These writers represent only a small percentage of the many women worthy of watching on the AC in 2008. Associated Content is a legitimate, safe avenue for talented writers to develop portfolios, earn compensation, share expertise, and improve their craft.
Men and women equally contribute fine writing to Associated Content: The People's Media Company, but somehow, it is always easier for all of us to find good role models in men, whether in the publishing world or other genre. This synopsis is but a sprinkling of the talented writers on the AC. Let us resolve to support Associated Content writers in 2008.
Watch for these, and other women writers on the AC in 2008. Subscribe to them, and Associated Content will notify you when they have new publications online for your reading enjoyment.
