Women's Health - Why Should Men Have All the Fun?

Nicole Lang
Ladies how many of you out there have been known to read your significant others magazines? Well ironically by reading Men's Health, I was immediately intrigued when Women's Health came out. I would read Men's Health laughing and truly enjoying quite a bit however secretly wishing there was a female counterpart. As luck would have it my dream became a reality a few years ago.

Women's Health is very similar to Men's Health in that it is funny, keeps you reading month after month and better yet give you sound solid advice to having a healthy body. I have been a loyal subscriber for 3 years and can honestly say have yet to be disappointed.

The articles in Women's Health tend to be less serious than those in other health and fitness magazines. While the content is serious most times the delivery is entertaining. In each issue of Women's Health, readers can enjoy "Ask Women's Health" a forum in which questions you might have always wanted the answers to but were afraid to ask are both asked and answered. Also in each issue is "Scoop". This page is to inform you of the most recent breakthroughs in health (all aspects).

Then of course is my personal favorite "The Average Woman". This page gives you statistics and percentages of the average women who do something in particular. For example in the November 2009 issue one of many average women statistics is "when the average woman dresses for a party her goal is: to be the hottest woman there". Most of this information is useless but fun nonetheless.

Most issues also have plenty of "instead of this, do this" with information about why a small change can make a big difference in calories burned or consumed. This is a very visual way of showing you how little changes can go a long way and most are things we never think of.

Women's Health is also loaded with pictures to make the magazine visually stimulating and plenty of advice from what the best running sneakers are to ways you can bond with your man. It's like Glamour meets Health. For those of you who are looking strictly for serious health topics I recommend Health magazine (another great read) but for those of you who want to have a little fun while reading about what the latest workout is Women's Health is your magazine!
