Wonder Soft 100% Whole Wheat Bread

Last night, while shopping at my neighborhood Walgreens Pharmacy, I encountered Wonder Soft 100% Whole Wheat bread for the first time. Until I saw this Wonder wheat bread, I was trying to decide whether to buy a loaf of regular style Wonder bread or Home-Pride wheat bread. As soon as I saw this bread, I bought a loaf of it and I'm glad I did.

The net weight of the standard-sized loaf of Wonder Soft 100% Whole Wheat bread is 16 ounces (one pound). The loaf contains nine 2 slice servings. The size of each slice appears to be the same as that of regular style Wonder bread.

When I purchased a loaf of Wonder Soft 100% Whole Wheat bread at Walgreens last night, it was almost by accident. The bread was on the bottom shelf of a display rack and I almost didn't see it. My intention was to purchase one of two higher priced varieties of bread. The price that I paid for one loaf of the Wonder wheat bread was $2.49.

Strangely enough, for the past few months, the retail price for one 16 ounce loaf of regular-style Wonder bread at that Walgreens has been $1.99, but the sale ended last week and the price per loaf is now $3.39.

Texture / Consistency
This wheat bread offers a soft yet sturdy texture that is very pleasing. The bread seems to be a little bit firmer than regular-style Wonder bread, but it is still appealingly soft.

Wonder Soft 100% Whole Wheat bread contains 60 calories, with 10 calories from fat, per one slice serving. Taste / Flavor
A few minutes ago, I ate a peanut butter sandwich made with Wonder Soft 100% Whole Wheat bread. Earlier today, I ate one and a half sandwiches made with this bread and I thought they were some of the tastiest peanut butter sandwiches I had eaten in a long time. The bread is so tasty I even ate a piece plain, straight from the bag and enjoyed the flavor immensely.

This bread possesses a vibrant and pronounced wheat flavor and is slightly sweet, with a faint molasses flavor present. Judging by how tasty the peanut butter sandwiches were, I imagine that virtually any type of sandwich made with this bread would be very flavorful.

On a flavor scale of one through ten, I would assign this product a rating of 9.50.

Packaging
The packaging of Wonder Soft 100% Whole Wheat bread is what made me notice the item for the first time. The main part of the bread bag / wrapper is orangeish - brown with a blue and yellow label that is accented by the familiar Wonder red, blue and yellow balloons set against a white background.

Overall Rating
On a regular basis, I purchase and eat several different brands and varieties of wheat bread. To my tastebuds, Wonder Soft 100% Whole Wheat bread tastes just as good as and / or better than the other varieties I eat.

Because it's a Wonder product, one can expect this bread to be tasty and of high quality and it is. Hopefully, this top notch wheat bread will be stocked at more food retailers in the future. Wonder Soft 100% Whole Wheat bread is a highly recommended product.
