The Wonder Woman Costume Clothes

Wonder Woman Costume First Stop: your closet.

No, not hanging up there, on the rack, check those bags in the back that are headed to Good Will. Search for any shiny material. Find any red, white or blue shirts or skirts.

Ideally, you would have a blue skirt of some kind, or even a black one. You could also use a swimsuit skirt. While going through your summer clothes, find a bathing suit to wear for the base of your costume.

A red, white, blue, gold or silver one-piece bathing suit would work, as would a bodysuit.

Wonder Woman Costume Next Stop: Thrift Store

The thrift store is a gold mine of shiny fabrics and materials. Even if you cannot sew be sure to pick up any shiny material which could be used as a skirt. You can pin it together with sewing pins from the inside, or with sewing velcro strips. You could even use colored masking tape or duct tape to hold the skirt together.

Put The Wonder Woman Costume Together

The overall look should consist of these clothing items:

Blue Bottomsfor the Wonder Woman Costume - The blue bottoms could be modest or sexy. For added effect, include gold or silver stars. Use what you have: metaillic markers, gold and silver stickers, or use sewing Velcro dots to attach the stars. You could also cut stars out of felt, or cardboard which is spraypainted or painted gold.

Modest Wonder Woman Costume: Opt for blue skirt, preferably shiny and bright.

Sexy Wonder Woman Costume: Wear blue bathing suit bottoms or a pair of cheeleader spankies.

Red Cape for a Wonder Woman Costume- At best you can staple a gold colored rope to the ends of a shiny, red cape. Get creative and use what you have around the house. Is there an old red sheet or pillowcase you could use? How about an old red towel? Keep in mind that even a big beach towel with a patriotic or star theme would work as a cape.

Red Topfor a Wonder Woman Costume- Any red without sleeves top will do.

Modest Wonder Woman Costume: A tank top or short-sleeved short would work. A top-covering bathing suit would also work for this part of the Wonder Woman costume. A red bodysuit will also cover you up.

Sexy Wonder Woman Costume: Wear a red bodice or corset, or a more revealing bathing suit top.

Accessorize the Wonder Woman Costume

Wonder Woman can wear silver or gold, so pick your favorite, it's your Wonder Woman costume.

Gold Accessories for Wonder Woman - Make a gold belt out of cardboard. Also make a an eagle symbol for the shirt. The gold eagle can cover the front of the Wonder Woman costume or it can just go along the top of the bodice.

Gold Bracelets for Wonder Woman- Use gold spray paint or cheap gold poster paint to coat a paper towel roll or two styrofoam cups to make the bracelets. Or wear any silver or gold cuff braclets you already have.

Gold Headband - You can use gold hair glitter or glitter glue to turn an ordinary headband, or any scrap of fabric into a super Wonder Woman gold headband. Paint on a red star in the middle. The headband should be wide and worn partially over the forehead.

These Boots Were Made for Super Powers!

Don't forget the Wonder Woman costume boots. Do you have red, white or blue boots? The boots should be knee-high and do not have to have a heel. Try not to wear Wellington boots, though. Even a pair of black boots would work, if that's all you have.
