Wonder Woman Movie: Jennifer Love Hewitt Begs Warner Bros for Role

Jennifer Love Hewitt admits to being obsessed with Wonder Woman and has confessed to begging Warner Bros for the lead role in the upcoming Wonder Woman Movie.

The Wonder Woman superhero was first created in 1941 by DC Comics.

In the 1970's CBS produced a highly successful television series based on the comic character, Wonder Woman, starring Lynda Carter in the title role and Lyle Waggoner as the ever clueless Major Steve Trevor.

Wonder Woman was an Amazon who in fought the Nazis, with superhero powers, a lasso that made the villains tell the truth, bullet repelling bracelets, and a boomerang weapon hair band. All while wearing a skimpy, patriotic outfit.

Lynda Carter, a former Miss World USA, has left the next Wonder Woman large boots to fill. The statuesque curvy brunette is the image anyone who remembers the television series sees when they think of Wonder Woman.

Now with Joss Whedon of Buffet and firefly fame, set to create a revival of the cheesy 70's television series for the big screen, curvaceous actresses are vying for the role.

Rumored candidates for the role include:

Jennifer Love Hewitt:

One thing Jennifer Love Hewitt has going for her is passion. Anyone willing to beg will surely give the role her all.

Jennifer Love Hewitt is known to television audiences for her role in Ghost Whisperer where she portrays a young woman who receives messages from the dead. She also portrayed Bailey's (Scott Wolf, V) girlfriend Sarah Reeves, on Party of Five.

There is no doubting that Jennifer Love Hewitt, or any of the ladies listed below, can carry off wearing the Wonder Woman costume. At roughly 5'3" though, those red boots would have to have some serious lifts for Jennifer Love Hewitt to carry off Wonder Woman's Amazon warrior characteristics.

Amazon's, under Greek mythology, were a warlike race of strong and tall women.

Beyonce Knowles

Beyonce, probably better known for her singing talents than acting, would be a bold choice for the role. One thing is certain; the Wonder Woman movie would boast a splendid sound track with Beyonce in the lead role.

Sandra Bullock

Sandra Bullock in the Wonder Woman role has probably garnered more controversy than all the other ladies combined, including the claim that Lynda Carter deemed the Oscar winner too old to play Wonder Woman-a claim that Lynda Carter vehemently denies.

Megan Fox

If internet chatter is correct, in 2009 Megan Fox was not interested in taking on the "lame" role. Joss Whedon of Buffet fame, however is adept at taking lame and turning it into a cult hit.

Megan Fox would certainly give Wonder Woman an edgier look, as opposed to Lynda Carter's bright eyed innocence, but how do you blend that with the Diana Prince characters first experience in the world of men (she's an Amazon).

Eliza Dushku

Does having worked with Joss Whedon, on Buffet, Angel and Dollhouse give Eliza Dushku the inside running on winning the Wonder Woman role? Perhaps. Add to that a Lynda Carter endorsement , and you have to wonder if Eliza will be the next Wonder Woman.

So who will be the next Wonder Woman?

Angelina Jolie and Lucy Lawless (Xena the Warrior Princess and D'Anna, Battlestar Galactica) also get votes across the net.

With all the misquotes, rumors and misinformation floating around though, the only way to really know who has the front running is to lasso a Warner Brother's executive with Wonder Woman's lasso of truth.
