Wonder Years Danica 'Winnie' McKellar Expecting First Child.
A Rare Combination of Beauty, Talent, and Brains, McKellar Now Writes Math Books
McKellar, now 35 years old, said she had tried to put off the pregnancy test because she didn't want to be distracted form working on her new book, Hot X: Algebra Exposed, which is expected to be available at bookstores in August. After her years of fame from the hit TV series, Danica attended UCLA and studied Applied Mathematics, graduating summa cum laude receiving her undergraduate degree. Danica has been honored in Britain's esteemed Journal of Physics and the New York Times for her work in mathematics, most notably for her role as co-author of a ground-breaking mathematical physics theorem which bears her name, the Chayes-McKellar-Winn Theorem. She even wrote her own math books geared for teenaged girls, national bestsellers titled Math Doesn't Suck and Kiss My Math.
Danica hasn't completely quit on the acting gig and has starred in over 30 films, TV movies, and plays including over 50 guest starring roles on various shows. She has appeared as a guest star on the 2010 hit TV series, The Big Bang Theory and in another CBS comedy, How I Met Your Mother. According to Danica on her website, danicamckellar, com, "It's hard to describe why I love acting. I've always two sides to my personality - on the one hand I love logic and math and puzzles, and on the other, I just love to entertain people."
Danica is also offering a rare autographed book offer that is a great way to support education at your local library. For every 5 copies of Math Doesn't Suck and/or Kiss My Math that is purchased and donated to your local school or library, Danica will send a thank you note and a personalized, signed sticker, signed to whomever you wish, to place in your own copy.
