Wonderful Game of Duality

Albert Adler
There is a formula "When you unite outer and inner, up and down, left and right you will be united with God." This formula is illustrated by Chinese Yin-Yang monad. Here is an image of it.

The image of the Yin-Yang monad symbolically reflects the dynamic model of the world. What can we learn from this image? Let's consider the meaning of it. First of all the major conclusion that we can make is the world is dual and consists of two opposites. This duality is reflected in two colors. In our world only two opposites that support each other and at the same time resist each other.

These two principals support each other because they exist together in the universe. They are interdependent. It's like one side of the coin exist only because the other side of it. In that sense they are identical.

On the other hand they weaken each other because they exist separately. They are different and they always struggle with each other. Sometimes it seems that one side wins temporarily. Then another side takes over. This principal is also reflected in saying that our life made of white and black stripes.

Our universe exists only because of the unity and resistance between these two opposites at the same time.

Symbolically these two opposites called male and female principals - Yin and Yang. Everything in the world has its opposite - hard-soft, strong-weak, sun-moon, plus-minus etc. Dual pairs play a huge role in our life.

A black dot on the white background and white dot on the black background implies that everything has a seed of its opposite. In other words whatever we see has a hidden seed of its opposite inside of itself. As an example can be that a good event can bring unwanted consequences and vice versa. This is the reason of saying "Road to hell is paved with good intentions."

We must pay close attention to the word "hidden". It doesn't mean that the opposite does not exist. It means it exists in another dimension and we cannot access it with our regular senses. Therefore those two opposites exist but in different dimensions. It must be clarified in order to avoid confusion.

It is very important to study duality and to learn to see the opposites in any situation. All the mysteries are hidden in duality. Anything can be reduced to interaction of opposites. Let's consider computer as an example.

Everyone knows what computer is, but probably not many people know the principles of functioning it. Computer works on interactions of opposites. In other words there is the duality principle in it. It works based on two signals that called "one" and "zero" or "yes" and "no". Certain level of signal means "one" another level of signal means "zero." It seems primitive. It's hard to believe that the work of such complex machine as computer based on such simple principle. All the processes that make up the work of the computer actually are the infinite number of combination and variations of these two signals - "one" and "zero"

Those two signals are opposites that constitute the work of the computer. At the same time such concepts as "good" and "bad" also opposites and the whole world is built on the interactions of those opposites.

A human being consists of a great number of thoughts. Most of them are similar to the computer programs. In other words in any person there is an infinite number of signals that defined as "good" and "bad." Therefore it can be said that in any human being number of "good signals" equals the number of "bad signals", since any systems tries to maintain the equilibrium.

Now we can consider "good" and "bad" people. Those who have the "good" principle dominant are considered to be good. The negative side of those people is hidden. It doesn't mean it's nonexistent. The same way goes for the "bad" people. It should be noted that the "good" side of those people is hidden but it does exist. Number of "good" and "bad" people in the world also must be equal to have the equilibrium.

Now I hope you understand what means to accept yourself as you are and love yourself and others unconditionally. Because "good" and "bad" only our mental definitions like one and zero in computer programs.
