Wonka Exceptionals: "Peppermint Shortbread Chocolate Pieces" Simply and Sinfully Delicious

Miss Fortune
Hidden on a back shelf, there sat an entire section of Wonka candies left over from Christmas. I would have completely missed it had there not been a woman giggling and loading up her cart with them. She saw me, I saw her. She knew I was moving in for the kill. With almost half of her cart filled she said, "I'm pregnant and addicted to the mint shortbread". It sounded more like a confession than an admittance. I pulled out my overstuffed coupon organizer and handed her a stack of ".55 cent off two" Wonka product coupons that were expiring at the end of January. There's no way I would be able to use them all.

One of the Wonka treasures I purchased was the Peppermint Shortbread Chocolate Pieces in the "Wonka Exceptionals" series. The four ounce boxes contain individually wrapped pieces of candy that have the perfect mix of chocolate, mint and crushed up pieces of shortbread cookies. The normal selling price on the boxes was $1.75 but they were scanning at .75 cents and with the coupons I was getting two boxes for less than a dollar. I had never tasted them before and if I had two feet I'd use one of them to kick myself for not buying more of them when I had the chance.

The boxes have a write-in spot for gift giving and the bag inside is completely sealed. For the eco-friendly people you will be pleased to know the box is made from 100% post consumer products. Nutritionally these aren't the best to snack on but the suggested serving of five pieces is a little too much even for me. Each serving contains 220 calories, 25 grams of carbohydrates, 1 gram of protein. These are a seasonal item so chances are you won't find them in this format all year round. I can have one or two of them and be completely satisfied and none of the flavors are so strong that they overpower the others.
