Whether you are a tourist visiting Southwest Washington, or you are a frequent traveler along the Interstate 5 corridor, consider treating yourself to an overnight stay at the Lewis River Bed and Breakfast. While there are hotels and motels scattered all along I5, none can promise the unique experience that the Lewis River B & B can. Located in Woodland, Washington, it is only five minutes off of the interstate (only 25 minutes from the Portland airport), just far enough to get you away from the hubbub and to a relaxing riverside scene. The setting is serene, the nearby attractions are world-class, the accommodations are comfortable and cozy and the food is delicious.

The Lewis River Bed and Breakfast, run by Darrell and Barbara Dalby is right on the Lewis River. It has a large deck (60 feet long) for sitting and viewing the river and its wildlife, plus, a private dock from which you can kayak, canoe or fish. The world-famous Mount St. Helens sits majestically to the east, and the beautiful green hillsides of the Pacific Northwest are all around.

There are too many attractions nearby to reasonably list, but they include the Mount St Helens Visitor Center, The Ape Caves, Woodland's beautiful fields of tulips, the Columbia River, multiple lakes for fishing and waterskiing, golfing, hiking, wildlife viewing, and of course, the Lewis River itself, which offers world-class salmon and steelhead fishing. The Dalby's will happily set you up with Cameron Black of Gone Catchin' Guide Service for a day of fishing on the Lewis or the nearby Columbia.

The five themed rooms and common areas are all comfortable, clean, and nicely decorated. Barbara and Darrell are always happy to tailor your stay to your needs. In-room massages and champagne, event coordinating and special accommodations for receptions, wedding, etc. are all available for reasonable fees.

Barbara serves happy hour in the evening and an unmatched home-cooked breakfast in the morning. Her cooking is as delicious as it is plentiful- nobody is likely to walk away hungry. The morning meal, prepared to your tastes and time preference is the cherry on top of a great experience. Whether you are that tourist looking for a uniquely Northwest experience, or a traveler tired of the same old hotels be sure to check out the Lewis River Bed and Breakfast.
