There are things for everyone to enjoy. You can browse for a great deal at one of the many flea market tables. You can purchase or make a fall craft like; decorating a jack o' lantern, sand art, beading a necklace or putting together a scarecrow. Or you can just sit down on a bale of hay and watch a show.
The local police department usually puts on a k9 demonstration that's very exciting and informative to watch. The local martial art studios always show off their students' learned skills. The dance academies and gymnastic studios also have groups of anxious students wanting to perform for their family and friends. Some of the local bands also perform for the festivities. It's always great to check out the talent and enjoy some great upbeat music. It's also a great way for the high school kids to perform.
There is an abundance of things for the kids to do. In addition to the shows, they have many crafts. Face painting and temporary tattoos are always a must. They love the moon bounces sponsored by the town's businesses and don't forget the petting zoo. There are even game booths for kids to win prizes. Pony rides are always in big demand. The hay rides are also one of the most popular activities, but not only the kids love them. Some of the festival's other previous activities have been scarecrow contest and bake-offs.
If you decide to visit the Amesbury area be sure to check out some of the local favorite businesses. These are some of our favorites : Hodgies, known for it's over-sized homemade ice cream, Andyman for coffee, bagels and great pastries and Flatbread Co known for its pizza baked in a wood fired oven.
