can come so suddenly
and greatly affect your life
it's something you never expect
I am so sorry it has happened to you
I truly wish I could
take your pain away
and dry all of your tears
But all I can give you
is the comfort of experience
and hold you while you cry
I understand your pain
because I have felt it before
I know it can hurt so much
But I also know how strong you are
I know you'll make it through this
even if it's one moment at a time
for a while
As time passes on
I promise the pain will fade
the ache will dull
and joy will replace
the tears
While you remember the sweet moments
of time you shared
and embrace the memory
of the life they lived

It strikes me that this is a wonderfully helpful poem for those who have lost pets or special animals as well as those who've lost special people in their lives. Definitely one to be read again and again.
passionately written! Nice work!
