Words and Weather

A Poem

L. Lee Scott
His fine hair brushed my cheek
Like gentle spring rain on parched ground,
And within me, joy bloomed.

Words replaced by careful touch
Conveying what mere sound could not
Daring me to accept and hope.

Clouds clear away, rain stops
And drought returns to thirsting soil.
Memories stretch like shadows at twilight.
