Wordy Wednesday

Bridget Ilene Delaney
Today is Wednesday and that means it is time for Wordy Wednesday! On Wordy Wednesday, I'll share one of my writings with you. It may be anything - a poem, a short story, an old essay (doubtful, though, as I don't think I can find them), or just something that I wrote for fun. Perhaps it'll even just be a line or two and I'll ask for your suggestions which you can either put in the comments or publish as your own article!

Poetry Night at the Jazz Club
The lights dimmed
Snapping begins
A shadow takes center stage
Softly, a voice speaks
Louder and louder it gets
Until it culminates in a final echoing thunder.
The snapping quickens
And the shadow leaves the stage without a word.

This is a poem I wrote just tonight as I was inspired this evening and thought about the situations pictured at places like this.

For those of you who like prompts: Write a poem about a way you hear poetry. It can be read by a family member, the author, or anybody else and it can be at any venue.

Not one for jazz, but did like your poem. Maybe jazz isn't so bad after all.
