OnPoint Advocacy is a grassroots effort firm engaged in informing the public about various political issues. The company is located in Virginia but has a number of advocacy coordinators around the country. The company works on a number of campaigns that focus on various issues. OnPoint hires home workers, known as coordinators, to conduct the various campaigns. As a coordinator you will not be selling anything or asking for money, you will strictly be asking people about their ideas and opinions on certain political issues. You will also be mailing information out.
The pay is $12 per hour. Pay is weekly. Work is based on a project basis; most projects last between 2-12 weeks. Each coordinator has the ability to set their own schedule, but the company requires at least 20 hours a week. However the company is confident that the work will be pretty steady, and once one project ends another will begin shortly. The company requires their coordinators be very communicators and writers. You will also need high-speed Internet, a land line phone, and a Windows based computer, no Macintoshes.

Parameds
Parameds is a company that hires work from home Medical Retrievers to retrieve medical information for their clients, which are insurance companies. The company provides extensive training, but I will tell you that the work can be overwhelming at first. Your job will be to contact doctor's offices everyday. Because the company is trying to get medical records as quickly as possible, or the insurance company is, Parameds requires their retrievers to call the same company several times a day, everyday. Some people don't mind doing this, but I would think this would become very annoying to the doctors or their assistants who answer the phone.
Parameds objective is to obtain medical records as quickly as possible for their insurance company clients. Although you want to call as often as you can because you are paid when the doctor sends the medical records, it can be very frustrating to keep calling a doctor throughout the day, especially when they have already told you the records are not and will not be available until a certain day. You are paid when the doctor sends the records, so there is really no way to know for sure how much you can make or will make. Some have said they make $200 a week; others have said they make less than $500 a month, so it depends on your caseload and your ability to get doctors to send the information.
You will need to be consistent, organized, and definitely self-motivated. I believe Parameds is a great part-time job; the problem is that the company requires you work at least six hours a day, and some have worked more hours in a day just to finish their caseloads for that day.
With that in mind, it depends on your situation or circumstances if this is a good work at home job for you or not. Another thing to keep in mind is that you must work for Parameds for at least 30 days when you are initially hired in order to collect your first check. In other words, if you quit within your initial 30 day hire, you will not be paid.
