Work from Home: Blogging Jobs

Marsha J
There are a few choices to be made when it comes to blogging. You can create your own blog site for free on a site such as blogger.com, make a paid blog site or work for a blog network. The difference between the choices is that you have all of the responsibility when it comes to owning your own blog. That means you will have to not only keep the blog updated but you also have to spend long hours promoting your blog to attract visitors.

With a blog network you are usually only responsible for one or more blogs in which you have to do 5 to 10 posts a week for a few hundred dollars a month. Depending on the blog network, you usually will not make enough money to make it a full time job but it is something that can be done on the side.

After you decide that joining a blog network is something that you would like to do your next problem will be trying to figure out what blog networks are hiring. Most blog networks have one or more posts open for new writers and are always looking for more talent.

One good place to find blog jobs is Craigslist under the writer section of their job listings. You can simply scroll through all the different listings or you can type in blog or blogger to see if anything comes up. Check back periodically because new positions pop up at different times.

Darren Rowse who is also known as the Pro Blogger because he has made hundreds of thousands of dollars from Google's Adsense has also created a section for blog jobs that is always updated with the newest jobs around the blogosphere. One such job that many would have loved to have, was posted by a secret celebrity who was looking for someone to update their blog, website and keep an eye on other celebrity blogs to see if their name came up. The celebrity would only reveal themselves to the blogger they chose to give the job to.

You can also take a look at the blog networks themselves to see if they are hiring. A quick search of Google under the keywords blog network should bring up websites such as www.blognetworklist.com a long list of every available blog network. Using that and other websites, you can easily scroll through to employment sections or take a close look around. Many blog networks sometimes have postings on the side asking if you would like to join the network as a writer.

Be persistent in your hunt because it can take a few weeks before you start to get responses back. All the networks ask you to send in samples and to also list places that you have blogged at before. They are looking for people who have some experience blogging so if you have never blogged before, create a blog at one of the free sites and take some time running it and keeping it updated so that you can get the hang of it.
