Work at Home with Cloud 10 Corporation

Become an At-home Employee

Kristina
If you're looking to work from home specifically as a telephone customer service representative or telemarketer, you should look into Cloud 10. Cloud 10 hires at-home workers as employees, so there's no need to deal with the quarterly or hefty end-of-year taxes as you would if you were an independent contractor. It goes without saying that since the position involves telephone work, you definitely need a separate office/computer room that is free from noises and distractions, so if you're a mom or dad looking to work from home and your children who are still at the age of needing constant supervision, you will definitely still need to arrange for someone to care for them during your scheduled shifts. I'm about 99.999% sure that they only hire in the United States, but please let me know if that's not the case. This company is completely legitimate, and they do not charge any fees whatsoever for background checks or application checks.

As an employee for Cloud10, you would have the opportunity to work on inbound and/or outbound customer service lines, or as a telemarketing or telesales representative. The opportunities and assignments will vary according to their clients' needs.

Now what are the benefits of working for Cloud 10? Well, at-home employees are not eligible for any health or life benefits, but you do have the benefit of being able to work from home. That should be enough for many people! All you need to do is think of the money you would be saving on the commute, a spiffy business casual wardrobe, snacks, lunches out, etc etc. The pay rate fluctuates according to the project, but it seems that it ranges from about $7 or $8 an hour to $11 or $12 an hour. Cloud 10 pays it's employees via direct deposit every other week. Unlike some other telemarketing companies that offer at home positions, you do get a set rate per hour and do not have to rely on heavy call volume to achieve a rate per hour that attracted you to the company in the first place, but have yet to earn.

With Cloud 10, you go through a multiple step interview process which includes a phone interview, but just because you are accepted does not mean that you will start working immediately. Cloud 10 acquires clients on a contract basis, and so you as an at home telemarketer would be contacted as soon as a project that fits your qualifications is available. From what I've heard, the wait for a project or between projects can be as short as a day to seven or eight months. Once you are part of a project, you do have a set schedule with set days off and set breaks and "lunch hours." Like any position at a brick and mortar location, you would have to request for time off in advance. There are usually many different shifts that one can choose from at the start of a project, so for most people, this is just the right amount of flexibility that is needed.

Before applying, you do need to know that Cloud 10 has specific minimum requirements technical requirements that your home office and computer must meet. These include a high speed internet connection, at least 512mb of ram and a processor speed of 500Mhz or faster, among other requirements. A separate phone line is not required because all calls would go through their software client on your computer. That said, they do require you to have an approved USB headset in order to work with them. On their site it specifies that the Windows XP OS is required, and I know for a fact that for many, if not most, of their projects, they will not allow the use of laptops or wireless internet connections.
For the project they were recruiting for most recently, a potential worker would have to run a diagnostic test on her computer and then send those results to Cloud10. The results would then be evaluated, and only after it was decided that your system is compatible would they contact you with the project's training information.

My verdict is this: the work may be too intermittent for some, but Cloud 10 is a well known corporation, with big name clients, and once you're on a project, and assuming you don't do something that may be out of line or against their or their client's operating procedures, it's a great part-time gig to have.

OH! yeah, and to add to what I said, sorry that sounded confusing -- of course not everyone there is disabled, no, anyone who's looking for flexible hours and the convienience of no commute and no office clothes to buy also work for them, lol

I've worked for C10 for a bout a year and a half, and I really enjoy it. I am disabled and got the position considered to me from NTI -- which is a company for disabled persons looking for work at home work and help them find it, so thousands of disabled persons are hired at Cloud 10 year-round.

If you are working at home, how do they know you are disabled. Do they ever see you face to face? I thought jobs like this are meant for disabled people who can't hold a regular job and need to be home. I'm not disabled but my wife is and I need to be home just in case there is an emergency.

If you have a disability, these people will fire you. My wife worked there for over 1.5 years, but when her disability became an issue, they fired her, although she is protected by the CO Civil laws and FMLA. We are going to go after this VERY small company is every court that will take the case. They are unprofessional and treat people like this job is the bottom of the barrel for people and is the only job people can get, therefore their employees must kiss their a#@ or tough luck. BEWARE.

This is so true. Everything you are saying about this company is completely true. I now work for this company and I have no complaints at all. I have been working for them since Nov. 2007 after my doctor suggested the website to me since I was sick and couldn't work.
