A digital camera, an imagination, and a little creativity is all you need to get started! Stop filling out those surveys for a few minutes, and learn how to really have fun while making money working from home!

Imagine Mary has a cooking website featuring her great-grandmothers recipe for apricot ice cream, which has been passed down through the generations. The site is up and running and ready to go, but her snapshot of her kids in their pajama's with this exquisite delicacy running down their chins is not the image she had in mind to represent this treat. Here is where stock photography comes in.

All she needed was a fabulous photo of apricot ice cream. She searches www.goggle.com, or www.chacha.com,, finds a stock photo site, and pays a few dollars for a photo of apricot ice cream served up in a pretty dish, with the sprig of mint...all the little details that she wished she had thought of herself! Stock photography saved her day, and reputation!

With a little imagination you can turn a pretty boring subject into a beautiful photo. Many stock photo companies are willing to pay you for this! You do not need to be a professional photographer, but you must have an eye for detail. Even the pro's were amateurs once!

Customers are continuously searching the web for photos of people working, business related photos, and items to represent health care. Conceptual photographs are in high demand, this allows you to be very creative. How would you depict 'serenity'? Would it be geese wading in a peaceful lake in your town? Would it be your cat sunbathing in a stream of light in front of the window? Use your imagination!

Things to keep in mind when taking photos are:

1. Make sure you are making your subject the 'center' of the photo, easily recognizable.

2. Great contrast, for example a pencil on a yellow piece of paper vs. white paper, make it pop!

3. Keep it simple, that way different customers can use your photo in different ways. Don't limit yourself.

4. Never use logo's of companies in your shots.

5. If you ever use a model, you must have a model release. This is required.

There are many on-line websites which will pay you for your uploaded photos. Here are a few links to help you get started:

This is such a wide open field, allowing you to be as creative and imaginative as you can! So start dreaming up those fantastic images!
