If you have been in or around the internet marketing world any length of time you have no doubt heard the phrase "The money is in the list." As an internet professional who operates a successful work from home business I will tell you that phrase could not be truer.

It does not matter if you are a wet behind the ears newcomer to the internet business arena or a grizzled veteran, list building is a necessity. To be completely honest, building your list should be your first priority when operating your business. Without the list there is no business.

Building a list is not as difficult as you might think.

1.) Web hosting

You will need a web host. "You get what you pay for" is an absolute truth I web hosting. Free hosting sites should be avoided. Do some research and find a host that offers cpannel access as well as 24/7/365 support.

2.) Domain Name

Have you ever heard people on the internet say that you do not even need your own domain? I am willing to bet you that each and every one of them have their own domain though. YES you need your own domain. When choosing your own domain name choose something that is catchy and easy to remember. The easier your name is to remember the better.

3.) Autoresponder

If you are going to build a list an autoresponder is absolutely necessary. Since its all about the list then you need a tool to manage it.

4.) Products

You will need three products to begin with. The first will be a short report of 10 - 20 pages to use as a give away. Second you will need a quality product to use as a "one time offer". Finally you will need another quality product to market to your list.

5.) Advertising

You will need to advertise your website to build your list. One of the easiest and most cost effective ways of doing this is writing articles. Writing and publishing articles will cost you absolutely nothing but your time.
