The first company I had fairly good success with was Certified Field Associates; they are a mystery shopping/ merchandising company. I was very excited when I started for this company there were a lot of assignments available in my area and the pay ranged from eight dollars an hour up to twelve. I quickly found a few flaws with their system, the first problem occurred when I found I had to wait for shipments to arrive at my home. I had my week scheduled and had accepted assignments up to forty-five minutes from my home plus I had another company I was doing assignments for in the same town on the same day. Needless to say I made two trips instead of one and learned a valuable lesson, do not get blinded by the money and forget to read the fine print. After that I was more careful in assigning and there were no further problems. The next flaw with Certified is their method of pay, direct deposit is the fastest way to be compensated for your work however it takes nearly three weeks to get all things verified, add to that no scheduled pay day and it can be very frustrating. They do pay but you can not schedule bills or anything around it, well after about three months I found they generally pay twice a month once anywhere from the fifth to the eleventh and last from the twentieth to the thirtieth. They also do not withhold any taxes that will be all on you at the end of the year so be sure to keep good records of expenses. The only other complaint I had with them was communication, I had a late plan that I accepted on very short notice over the phone, well I was unaware that it was to be completed and reported by three that Sunday so they deactivated my account without my knowledge. All in all I found my love of merchandising with this company and their pay rate was very competitive, I would give them three and a half stars out of five.
The next company I worked for is Driveline or previously known as Archway Merchandising. They are great to work for but their format is slightly different from Certified. You will have none of the payment issues from above with this company. They hold out taxes, pay every two weeks, offer direct deposit and do your withholding! The jobs are absolutely the same type of work you would do for Certified or any other merchandising company the only difference here is you do not accept assignments you are assigned a store. This way any plan that comes available in this store will be yours. The only draw back I have found is you are limited to twenty hours a week and some weeks you will get less than that. Other than that they have been five stars to work for.
There are many more companies to work for that will provide you with the flexibility you desire, if you are careful and take your time you will find the work from home job you really need and want. I am adding some links to these jobs and more if you would like to work for driveline and live in my area please contact me and I will refer you to my district manager.

Post a CommentVery informative. I've never tried mystery shopping, it sounds interesting.
Merchandising is a great way for moms who have kids in school to earn an little extra cash. I got hooked up with an online transcription company that (so far, knock on wood) is working out for me for the most part. It is always good to read real testamonials that you know are from real people who have worked for a company.
Thanks for doing the research and letting us know the real story.
Well written. I have also done a little mystery shopping though not as much going on where I live now. I might check out Driveline. Wish my mom would have read this about not giving any $ upfront. She did not get taken bad though still a waste.
Good info. I've done some mystery shopping in the past, so I may look further into these companies that you've mentioned.
