The human body is well equipped to fit in an exercise schedule without the help of machines. There is a lot that can be done at home to keep fit. The point to be remembered is following schedule.
1. The up and downs - push ups, pull ups and sit ups:
The Idea is to exercise all parts of the body. Following a well planned routine, alternating between the three can keep the body well oiled and fit.
Push ups build up the biceps, triceps and the chest. Pull ups work on the chest, abdomen and the lower arms. Sit ups build up the thighs, calves and the abdomen. Decide on a set (the number of units) and work on multiples of these sets. Say you start with 10 push ups. Once you are comfortable with ten, move on to twenty.
The key here is working out regularly. Half an hour daily will see you fit in a couple of months.
2. Yoga:
If you are a practitioner of Yoga, there is no need for any other form of exercise. The Yogic "Asanas" work on all parts of the body. It also purifies the blood stream on account of the controlled breathing. The only hitch being it has to be learnt. If you have a chance to learn yoga and practice it, you will be fit for rest of your life.
3. Household chores:
If my grandpa kept fit working out at home, my grandma managed to be fit working on the home. Even tough we despise these chores; they are the best form of exercise. Cleaning and washing involves a lot of stretching. Working on the garden is an excellent fat burner. And cooking is good for the fingers, wrists and hands.
Do not be lazy when doing chores. If something requires you to bend a lot, do not fret since the bending is only strengthening your back. There is plenty that can be done at home to have a lean and enviable body.
On a final note, always innovate with the way you do things around the house. If you are serious about having a body with muscles then the best way is for create a routine and follow it. If you just want to be fit, then you could just go about your daily chores without being lazy. The motto of the home fitness freaks could well be "home is where the health is".
