Working Out at Home Rather Than the Gym

At times like today's financial crisis, there are many people on a tight budget or jobless. With bills, groceries, gas, etc., who needs more monthly payments? Many people work out at the gym and some memberships cost $30 per month. On top of the additional monthly payment, you are now committed to a gym membership for a year or two. This is why so many people have resorted to working out at home. Working out at home gives you freedom and allows you to work your workout into your schedule appropriately.

There are so many home gyms that you can purchase online or off of the television from one of those infomercials. What if you didn't have to have a home gym in order to get the same results you would at a gym? There are hundreds of videos for working out, but none as comprehensive and aggressive as P90X. This is a world class workout routine that is provided to you on 12 discs. The way that this workout is layed out is that you workout for 90 days. For each block, you watch the specific DVDs for that week. Every day is a different workout routine and you are constantly on the move maintaining a steady active heart rate.

However, be warned that you should not start this aggressively if you are in very poor shape or have had no experience with cardio or working out. The key is to start out slow and increase the amount you do. Do not worry about trying to keep up with the people on the DVDs, stay at your own pace and do as much as you can. Pullups are one of the hardest things to do on the workout. The nice thing about doing the pullups is that you can either use a pullup bar or purchase resistance bands that provide the same movement. On top of doing the movements with the bands, there are hundreds of other exercises you can do with the resistance bands. The DVD set comes with a schedule, a book, diet book, website access so that you can ask all of the questions you want to the guys that created this program. All in all, if you want to get in the best shape of your life, P90X is the way to go. With this workout, you can do it right out of your own home. You will need to buy some weights, in the beginning and also a yoga mat. If you do not use a yoga mat during yoga, you will struggle because your feet will be sliding all over the place. Pay attention to how the instructors in the video are doing the workout, one wrong move and you could easily injure yourself or pull a muscle.
