There are multiple benefits to students having jobs while attending high school. A lot of parents can be quite wary of having their children maintaining both a job and their education. There are a lot of things that can be hard for students to learn without having the responsibility of a job. For example, some things I've learned from having a job while I've been in school are how to manage money, having a strong work ethic and also having strong communication skills. All of these skills have helped me in various aspects of my life, not only in school but also in my personal life. Those are just a few reasons why having a job during school can really improve your life.

To begin with, learning how to manage my hard earned money was very beneficial. In an economy such as today's it's important to budget your money. Having a job can show students how important it is to save that money for more important things than always buying items that only temporarily please you. I've also learned how much of an impact taxes have on everyone and also how I need to save for my future. Since having a job, I've learned that I have to be watchful and in charge of exactly where my money goes and also how I spend it. Good money management is and will always be a vital trait for a healthy financial life.

Another good reason for students to have a job while in school is so they can create a strong work ethic. If you're wanting to be hired by anyone, they'll look at your past job records and see how strong your work ethic in past jobs have been. Being able to get work done efficiently and on time is a very important skull that's needed to obtain and manage successful careers. When having a job you learn that if you don't get our work done on time there are major consequences to be had. On the other hand if you get your work completed on time and accurately there are rewards.

Last but not least, having a job means developing good communication skills. Before applying for a job I had no real communication skills. As soon as I had my first interview, all of that changed. I had to learn how to best communicate with my employers and also the people I work with so I could get all my work done efficiently and without conflicts between me and my fellow employees. Communication has helped me in many ways. For example, when trying to convince my mom that I needed a car or a later curfew, my communication skills came in handy. Being able to communicate is essential in nearly all aspects of life from getting that jobs that you've wanted to being able to use your parents car.

All in all, students definitely should consider having a job while in school. There are so many positive aspects that can be learned while having a job which is why I support students having jobs while in school. Being able to manage money, having a strong work ethic and also good communication skills are all vital if someone wants to have a solid and successful future.
