Workman's Comp in Nevada

I injured myself at work. Obviously, I am just a body there because everyone fought against helping me. I sprained my back and went to workman's comp right away. They gave me Loratab,flexeril and 800mg ibuprofen and told me to go back to work all drugged up. Can you believe that? I couldn't hardly walk the next day but i was told that if i didn't come back to work, i would be written up. I went into work and then ended up back at workman's comp. They said all they could do was give me a rubbing cream because the rest of the medication either made me sick or put me to sleep. Can you believe my job told me to take the loratab and come to work. I went twice to workman's comp and after the medical assistant told me that unless i broke a limb, i would have to go back to work, i went to a specialist. I was told that in order for my back to recover, i needed to rest and ice it and that it would get worse before it got better.

Workman's comp didn't care about how i feel or my health. They are contracted with your employer to make sure you go back to work and not have to pay you. I couldn't walk for almost a whole week. I am still in physical therapy and seeing my doctor, in which, i paid for everything out of my own pocket. My job has done nothing to help me or support me. I didn't expect much from them, sad to say. Unless your in management, your nothing. I also was told that out of the 2weeks that i was out from work, workman's comp would cover 2 days, but they wouldn't pa anything, because in the state of Nevade, 5 days have to be covered before anything is paid. So if you had a heart attack, and you can walk after 4 days, you won't get covered. I moved here from Chicago and i can say now, after dealing with it, Nevada's health system is terrible and means more death for people here that are sick. Why did they tell me i approved , yet nothing would be paid? What is two days anyway when i am out of work 2 weeks? Why pay extra disability insurance when it doesn't even help you? Everyone wants payment but when you get sick, you have to fight for them to pay out! Its sad and its just ashamed.

I can't imagine how health insurance will treat me when i get older and need help. I better get out of this state fast! You better believe i will pursue this and if this happens to you, please do the same.
