Are you looking for a place on the Internet to compete in chess tournaments that are longer than three or five-minute games? Look no further! World Chess Live holds nightly standard tournaments. There is always a good showing and plenty of competition, so whether you play at the 1100 level and have things to learn, or at the 2100 level and know your stuff, challenging games are available.

The Random Draw Tournament

The Random Draw (usually called the RD on the site) is a four-round, 15-minute game tournament that is held every night but Friday at 10:00 PM Eastern Time (New York). The tournament is open to join at 9:40 PM and needs eight chess players in order to run. At the end of each month, a random winner is chosen and awarded something special (hence the name of the tournament).

The Titanium King Challenge Tournament

The Titanium King Challenge, known affectionately as the TKC, is a four-round, 25-minute tournament that begins at around 12:30 AM Eastern Time (New York). This tournament is run every single night at World Chess Live, and is becoming very popular! As always, players of all levels enter this tournament, providing a decent challenge for every chess player involved. This tournament is especially popular with the crowd who are also members of the Slow Time Control (STC) Bunch at http://stcbunch.net/news1.php .

Many Internet chess players complain about the lack of slower time controls on playing sites, and are wishing there were more tournaments like these. World Chess Live is also affiliated with the STC Bunch, so the tournaments are easy to find.

If you do not already have an account, go to www.worldchesslive.com and register with us! Besides these slow tournaments, there are many other events such as master challenges and master simuls that happen frequently. The goal of World Chess Live is to provide a friendly atmosphere for families to play chess on the Internet. World Chess Live has excellent staff and interfaces for Windows, Mac and Linux users, so everyone is invited.
