Original, fun, and strangely unusual, World of Goo is nothing short of an awesome puzzle game. The ingenious game design contains layer after layer of originality; this is by no means a rehash of some other classic game. The levels available in World of Goo are diverse, and the detail and art seen in the Goo itself cover a range of quaint qualities. The game also has a very innocent sense of humor, which is something all too uncommon in video games. And last but not least, the soundtrack to the game fits perfectly -- as weird as that is to say about a game centered around blobs of slime!

The obvious problems here with World of Goo, although these are mostly negligible, are that for one, the controls to the game are usually a few steps behind when you press them. And the worst I can say about the visuals are that, considering the cell shaded cartoony world, the graphics and colors could have a little more tightening to them. But these really aren't much to hinder anything that is great gain gets you.

The game is actually very similar to other puzzle games, despite its uniqueness. The point of the game is pretty easy whereas instead of trying to reach an exit, you're trying to lead the blobs across dangerous to Raines while avoiding back games that will steal them. It's not concept which is done by finding the nicest, talking blogs and turning them into characters from Google buildings to reach of this to the sky and stretch across gaps in the ground. If your Google building is sturdy enough to reach the exit, all the slime balls that have been employed to build the structure can pull all their friendly components right along with them, then you'll complete the stage.

You should never judge a book by its cover, and the same goes for games. Although world of two may look like just another bargain bin game judging by its box art, this puzzle game is one of the most original and playable games even for hard-core gamers to hit any platform in a long time. It's all based on physics, and who knew physics could be so much fun? The company behind this genius creation, 2-D boy, is certainly tapped into exactly what was missing in puzzle games up until now -- and believe it or not, that is simply putting together again that may very well become another obsession for anyone of any age, just like classics such as Pac-Man or Asteroids.
