World Resorts International - Internet Gateway to Great Vacation Opportunities
Timeshare Owners Rejoice - There is a Silver Lining
With to days tight economic environment many who either own timeshare and many who don't but were frequent travelers are cutting back or limiting their vacation time. Times are tough for the majority of us!
World Resorts International (WRI) contacted me and asked for an honest appraisal of their newly introduced travel portal which takes advantage of the surplus of unused timeshare accommodation that exists across over 5,000 resorts world wide.
They are not the first to offer access to these available weeks in luxury resorts, however up to now these have been made available to existing timeshare owners through the various exchange companies like RCI (Resort Condominiums International, II (Interval International) and Trading Places International to name but three.
What WRI has done is to make available a membership that doesn't involve purchasing a timeshare with the associated annual maintenance costs and exchange company memberships and fees, but opens up these unused luxury resort one, two and three bedroom units to their members at an astonishingly low price.
I found weeks in beautiful properties both here and overseas starting at a ridicules $99.00 for a seven day stay!
From my limited investigation the average price seemed to be around $350.00 for a week in a one bedroom apartment that slept 6. - you could pay as much as $700/900 for a week in a high demand location like Hawaii during school holidays etc.Having said that I located a 2 bedroom unit on Maui for $499.00! I also found a 16th century Italian Villa that usually rents for $1862.00 for an amazing $325.00 for the week!
I think what impressed me most however was the ease of use. The members web site provides access not only to 'timeshare' properties but to discounted hotels, airline and cruise packages. I actually bought a one night stay in a Las Vegas Casino in a beautiful room on the 17th floor with a view of the whole Las Vegas strip for $18.00!
In another example I requested a 20 night stay in Paris, France - the quote was $57.00 per night including return air ticket and my hotel room inclusive of taxes and charges etc!
Something else I discovered - as an existing timeshare owner I can deposit my week through their fulfillment partner,30 year veteran exchange company 'Trading Places' - now owned by Interval International, and receive TWO weeks in return!
For someone who travels as much as I do and who loves the comfort of a condo as opposed to a hotel room - I was very impressed.
Travel in comfort.
