World Series Schedule 2010 Set: Texas Vs. San Francisco

Ryan Christopher DeVault
The 2010 World Series schedule will have Texas vs. San Francisco. Game 1 of the 2010 World Series schedule is in San Francisco this Wednesday, creating a very intriguing match-up between the unlikely league champions. There weren't many baseball analysts predicting this outcome, but both the Texas Rangers and San Francisco Giants have earned their place in the 2010 World Series.

According to the MLB schedule, first pitch for Game 1 will be at about 4:57 p.m. PT (7:57 p.m. ET) on Wednesday, Oct. 27. The National League Championship Series winner gets to play host of the first two games because the National League won the 2010 All Star Game. Not having home field advantage might actually prove to be what Texas wants though, because they have played much better on the road during the first two rounds of the American League Playoffs. In the ALDS they won three road games against the Tampa Bay Rays, and then won two more road games in the ALCS against the Yankees.

The probably Game 1 starters are going to be Cliff Lee for the Texas Rangers, and Tim Lincecum for the San Francisco Giants. It is subject to change, as there is so much time before Game 1 of the World Series, but these are the two best pitchers on their respective tests. As such, we should expect them to take the field on Wednesday.
