World of Warcraft Cataclysm - Feast of Winter Veil Achievement - Let it Snow
Let it Snow Feast of Winter Veil Achievement
In World of Warcraft Cataclysm the Feast of Winter Veil is an annual event that starts in the middle of December, and ends in the first few days of January. These dates are December 15th until January 2nd and these are the same every year. Winter Veil is similar to Christmas, with Reindeer and Santa themes abound.
The World of Warcraft Cataclysm World Event Achievements: Let it Snow
The achievement text for Let it Snow is as follows "During the Feast of Winter Veil, use a Handful of Snowflakes on each of the race/class combinations listed below." The listed race/class combinations are the same for both Horde an Alliance and are as follows; Orc Death Knight, Tauren Shaman, Undead Rogue, Gnome Mage, Blood Elf Warlock, Human Warrior, Night Elf Druid, Troll Hunter, Dwarf Paladin and Draenei Priest.
The first part of this achievement is acquiring at least 10 Handfuls of Snowflakes from using the /kiss emote on Winter Revelers inside of inns throughout Azeroth. Like for Bros. Before Ho Ho Ho's, it is made easier by creating a macro to kiss both Winter Revelers before they debuff you. Once you have been set up with enough Handfuls of Snowflakes its time to start searching for the race/class combinations.
Finding the 5 on your side: Depending on whether you are Alliance or Horde, 5 of these will be relatively easy for you to find. Traveling through Orgrimmar or Stormwind will get you a few by just clicking through mobs of people around the banks and auction houses. Use the /who command (ex: /who undead rogue) to get a list of the race/class combos, although this works only for players on your side as well. You can /whisper these players to track them down or just use a macro with the /target name command to patrol larger areas.
Finding the 5 Opposing side members: There are several efficient methods to go about finding the opposing faction member race/class combinations to shower with snow. First and possibly the quickest to scoop up the more common combos is to join a Battleground and search the BG list to see if any of the participants are the right kind. Keep an eye out for their names and hit them with some snow.
You can search shared areas that are commonly traveled, like the new 80-85 Cataclysm zones, Dalaran or Shattrath city. This method can be a bit slow at times, since Dal and Shatt are often devoid of the mass populations they once had.
Finally the best way to scoop up the hard to get combinations, is to create a trial account you can run at the same time as your full account you are unlocking the achievement with. Using this dual client method, load up the trial character in a newly made character in the opposite faction for the server your main toon is on. Like before, you can now again use the /who "race" "class" command to get lists of the combos you need and where they are located. Unfortunately trial accounts cannot send whispers, so getting them to spill the beans on their exact locations may be difficult, however using a targeting macro and searching their zone with your main is the next best way.
Let It Snow is worth 10 achievement points and is one of the 11 achievements needed to unlock Merrymaker.
