World of Warcraft: Cataclysm - Warrior Protection Talents - Tier 1

This article will serve as a guide to the first tier of Protection Talents for the Warrior class in World of Warcraft Cataclysm, reflecting the new talent tree changes made with the release of the World of Warcraft expansion. These first tier of talents are; Incite, Toughness and Blood and Thunder. The first tier of ProtectionTalents for the Warrior in World of Warcraft: Cataclysm are considered those that require no talent points spent on the Protection tree before being unlocked.

Five Points must be spent spread out it any fashion amongst Incite, Toughness and Blood and Thunder to unlock the second tier of Protection talents. In addition, some talents require a specific talent be maxed out before unlocking itself, these requirements if present will be included below.

World of Warcraft Cataclysm Warrior ProtectionTalent: Incite
Incite has 3 ranks, does not unlock any other talent. The second critical granted by this talent does not re-trigger the effect.
Incite Rank 1: Increases the chance your Heroic Strike ability will get a critical strike by 5%. In addition, 33% of your critical hits with the Heroic Strike ability will cause the next Heroic Strike to also cause a critical hit.
Incite Rank 2: Increases the chance your Heroic Strike ability will get a critical strike by 10%. In addition, 66% of your critical hits with the Heroic Strike ability will cause the next Heroic Strike to also cause a critical hit.
Incite Rank 3: Increases the chance your Heroic Strike ability will get a critical strike by 15%. In addition, 100% of your critical hits with the Heroic Strike ability will cause the next Heroic Strike to also cause a critical hit.

World of Warcraft Cataclysm Warrior Protection Talent: Toughness
Toughness has 3 ranks, does not unlock any other talent. Essential talent for the Warrior Tank. If you are a tank, do not pass this up.
Toughness Rank 1: Increases the armor gained by items by 3%.
Toughness Rank 2: Increases the armor gained by items by 6%.
Toughness Rank 3: Increases the armor gained by items by 10%.

World of Warcraft Cataclysm Warrior Protection Talent: Blood and Thunder
Blood and Thunder has 2 ranks, does not unlock any other talent. Essential talent for the Warrior Tank. If you are a tank, do not pass this up.
Blood and Thunder Rank 1: When you use Thunder Clap on a target under the effect of your rend ability, you get a 50% chance to effect every target with the Rend effect.
Blood and Thunder Rank 2: When you use Thunder Clap on a target under the effect of your rend ability, you get a 100% chance to effect every target with the Rend effect.
