World of WarCraft Classes

Laura Frost
To get the true feel of WOW you have to experience each class individually, but knowing which class to go with can sometimes be the hard to choose from. Each one has their own advantages and disadvantages as well and several can only exist within the correct race. Horde or Alliance you can find the perfect race and class to fit your own personality or to give you a whole new role to take on. Here is a guide to each class.

Death Knight-
A Death Knight is the newest class among the whole class selection and you cannot acquire one unless you have purchased the latest expansion pack, "Wrath of the Lich King." However, each race can become a death knight and they start their journey out in Ebon's Hold where they are servant to the Lich King and have to break free of his grasp. They are pure evil and have to kill the innocent which lie in their path to freedom with many spells and diseases, not to mention the wrath of their many minions. They can be used as tanks in raids because of their ability to wear plate armor which is harder to pierce by all the evil that seeks to destroy them.

Mage-
A Mage should be purely used as a magic user because that is what they are best at. They should be in the back somewhere throwing spells that cause fire, ice and frost damage they are not efficient to a lot of damage because their armor purely consists of cloth. They are great for teleporting and only the races of Draenei, Gnome, Human, Undead, Troll and Blood Elf can be a mage.

Shaman-
A Shaman is a great healer and in raids can be used effectively for that purpose. They are user to the four core elements of life water, wind, fire and earth. Each one is carried in a totem that helps to heal them, protect them and of course cause damage to the opposing enemy. In their tribal communities they are known as spiritual leaders and can only be acquired by Draenei, Orc, Tauren and Troll races.

Rogue-
Rogues are deceitful and sneaky in their class, they are full of tricks to creep up on their enemies, steal from them and then backstab them. They use their stealth to attack their enemy while using poison to confuse them enough to ultimately slaughter them. Draenei and Taurens are the only races who cannot be a Rogue.

Warrior-
Warriors are great for raids in WOW, they can be used to tank due to their ability to wear plate once they become a trained warrior. They create a lot of damage and protect against their opposing enemy, a Blood Elf is the only race that cannot be a warrior.

Paladin-
A Paladin is much like a warrior they can wear plate and they stand upfront fighting with sword, hammer, axe or even club against their enemy. They, unlike warriors have the power to heal themselves and anyone near them. Blood Elf's, Draenei, Dwarfs and Humans are the only races that can be a Paladin.

Druid-
Night Elves and Taurens are the only two races that can be a Druid. That is because they are the two races that are most close to the earth, they are at one with nature and respectively it is at one with them. They not only can heal but they can take a lot of damage while doing so. They are great shape-shifters and can take on many forms and each one is efficient to their many needs during their quests. Their first shape-shifting form is a Dire Bear which can take a huge amount of damage in battle; they also learn a cheetah, raven, tree, lion, sea lion and moonkin forms.

Priest-
A Priest is a great healer and spiritual leader; they are great for both when in a raid and very supportive in throwing buffs to those who need it during battle.

Warlock-
Warlocks are spell-casters and very good at it, they can drain the life from their enemy and make soul shards to summon their demons which become their servants through a series of trainings. They can only wear cloth so their attack is better from a distance. Usually warlocks are feared by the Alliance and leaders to the Horde.

Hunter-
A Hunter is one of the best classes to choose because at the level of ten you already have a partner fighting beside you. You can choose a lifelong companion to help you attack enemies, which means you level faster and die less. Once you have leveled to the higher levels and explored distant lands you can choose from just about any pet you want. A hunter can mark their enemy and use ranged weapons to kill them before they even get close enough to attack back. Hunters are great for distant attackers and for close ranged attacking due to their ability to wear leather and mail.
