When you start World of Warcraft you get to literally choose your character. There are seriously so many different combinations, so not everyone is the same, and you can be your own self. After you choose all of that, the adventure begins. Whether you just want to explore the beautiful land of Azeroth, or battle some unique creatures, or attempt some dangerous quests, it is all there. There are different quests for each level, so if you are level 10 and are in a level 20 zone, you either should get out of harms way or party up with some higher levels. Blizzard wanted to make this as easy as possible, so people could get comfortable with the way the quest system worked.
When you insert the first CD into your drive to install the game, you notice it takes a while. This is a 5 GB game, that uses a lot of computer power. If you don't have a high end computer, don't even bother getting this game. I run a P4 H\T 3.4 Ghz high powered gaming laptop, with the 2 gigs of RAM, and 256 MB of video memory, and I still suffer some shuttering lag in large cities. Now I realize laptops aren't the greatest thing to play games on, but I play when I'm out too. That's how great the game is! The main thing you want when playing this game is RAM. Then comes the video card and processor. The reason you want RAM for this game is, when entering large cities, the system has to go through everyone else's memory and it thens reads back to yours, so if you're only running 256 MB of RAM, and there are others with 2 gigs of RAM, they are going to get the better performance, while if you had what everyone else ran, there wouldn't be any problems.
World of Warcraft is by far my favorite MMORPG, and I'm sure it would be everyone else's too. I was actually looking forward to Everquest 2, but when I heard the game was kind of slow I decided not to go with it. I also didn't like what people were saying about it being not that popular, and that the amount of people playing weren't even close to the amount playing World of Warcraft. I am happy with the way World of Warcraft is running, and I'm sure it will keep me happy for a while. Definitely try it out as it has a free 30 day trial. What do you have to lose? It's a great game.
