Orfus of Kamagua has taken up a position near The Great Lift so that he may investigate a puzzling and potentially dangerous mystery. Hunters from the village have recently been returning to report that the dead have begun to rise along an old hunting trail and have been attacking passerby.
Orfus and his young son don't dare venture any further to the haunted area, but they have no qualms about sending you to investigate. Strap on your ghostbusting helmet and get a ready to fight some more undead in the World of Warcraft "The Dead Rise!" quest.
World of Warcraft "The Dead Rise!" Quest
You'll find Orfus and his son standing near the mainland platform of The Great Lift in Howling Fjord. He's concerned about some paranormal activity at nearby Shield Hill, and asks you to venture into the area and investigate four desecrated graves. Afterward, you're to return to him with any clues you happen to find.
It's a wonder the Kalu'ak have survived as long as they have without being able to do anything for themselves. What did they do when they had problems to solve before Northrend was opened back up to adventurers?
To Shield Hill
Shield Hill is SE of The Great Lift. You can get there by following the path and taking the first right. Along the way, you might want to run into New Agamand to pick up the " Shield Hill " quest, as they take place in the same area, and you're probably going to have to kill a few risen Vrkyl before "The Dead Rise!" is over.
Once you reach the graveyard, look for glowing mounds of dirt within recently-disturbed graves. Fight your way through the Risen Vrkyl Ancestors and Blood Shades, to reach them. The easiest way to spot a grave with a clue inside is to look for the named, unattackable NPCs standing above them.
You're looking for clues related to Fengir, Rodin, Isuldof, and Windan, and as luck would have it they are all standing right above their respective graves. Locate each deceased Vrkyl and plunder the grave beneath him to find his clue.
You'll find Rodin's grave on the Northwest edge of Shield Hill, Fengir just West of Rodin, Isuldof on the South edge near the middle of the graveyard (Look for his giant undead bear companion sleeping nearby), and Windan at the very SE edge of the peninsula.
Return to Orfus
You'll find that Orfus and his son are still hanging out near The Great Lift when you've finished your quest. Report your findings to him and you'll be rewarded with 20k experience points and some Kalu'ak reputation. He'll also send you out (or back, depending on which way you came to Howling Fjord) to Kamagua to speak to Elder Atuik.
