World of Warcraft Quest Guide: "The Heart of Darkness"

Warp Scryer Kryv at Honor Hold keep is impressed with your efforts so far, particularly the way you cleansed the skeletons of his fallen comrades on The Path of Glory . Accordingly, he's now ready to send you on a more dangerous errand, taking on Terrorfiends at the Pools of Aggonar.

"The Heart of Darkness"

You'll find Warp Scryer Kryv upstairs in the Keep, sitting at a table with Danath Trollbane. You should know where he is, considering you have to do a mission or two for him before you can even get "The Heart of Darkness."

Your destination is the Pools of Aggonar, just North of the Overlook, one of the structures you had to capture for the " Hellfire Fortifications " quest.

You can get there by following the road that runs around the West end of the chasm that divides the zone, or by simply flying there on your aerial mount.

The pools are hard to miss, bubbling green cauldrons surrounded by bright-colored slime monsters and giant Terrorfiends. The latter are your targets for this quest.

Terrorizing the Terrorfiends

The Terrorfiends themselves are not terribly difficult. They are around level 62, and have a "fel flames" attack that can be pretty damaging, so try and interrupt them when they're casting it. They also have a shockwave attack that will knock you back a few yards, so try to put your back to the cliff when possible to avoid being pushed into aggro range of a passing mob.

The real annoyance on this quest is the presence of the nearby Blistering Rots and their Blistering Oozelings. The second you attack a Terrorfiend these things seem to come running, leaving you stuck fighting up to four mobs simultaneously. Be prepared to deal with them, as they seem to have an unnaturally long aggro radius.

Concentrating on the Terrorfiends that patrol the outer edges of the pools, along the cliffside, seems to be the best way of minimizing the chances of Blistering interference. Keep an eye out as you fight, as you will most likely have to move your target once you've engaged to get it out of range of unwanted adds. The Northern end of the Pools is also a great place to find them separate from their oozing counterparts.

Arazzius the Cruel

The large structure at the Northern end of the pools is home to Arazzius the Cruel, so those who have picked up the "Overlord" quest may wish to grab a couple passerby and attempt to take down the elite mob while in the area.

Return to Kryv

Once you've slain the requisite 10 Terrorfiends, mount up and head back to Honor Hold.

Your rewards are substantial. Two gold, nearly 10k experience points, and some Honor Hold reputation.
