World of Warcraft Quest Guide: "Rampaging Ravagers"

Benjamin Sell

Sid Limbardi, the Honor Hold Innkeeper, is concerned about a pair of hunters he sent to deal with the Arakkoa who have been attacking local supply trains. They haven't reported in yet, and he wants you to run out and check on them.

Once you find them, they'll have a series of tasks for you to complete, starting with eliminating a group of Ravagers that are attacking their camp. You should see these beasts on your way in, and chances are you'll be ready to kill a few by the time you do, as they are very aggressive.

"The Longbeards"

"The Longbeards" is the quest that Sid Limbardi sends you on. He wants you to locate the Longbeards, and you'll find them in the South Western part of Hellfire Peninsula, and just West of the entrance to the Den of Haal'Esh. To be clear, the dwarves are not inside the den, but rather just outside near some tents on the hill.

Once you've found them, you can turn in "The Longbeards" to Gremni and he'll give you the follow up, "Rampaging Ravagers."

Before you head out, you may wish to take a quick trip back through the Dark Portal to Nethergarde keep to pick up some Nethergarde Bitter for the quest "Gaining Mirren's Trust" that you'll get from Gremni's brother Mirren. Doing so will enable you to turn the quest in as soon as you arrive for some quick experience points.

"Rampaging Ravagers"

The local Quillfang Ravagers are continually attacking the Longbeards' camp and making the completion of their task impossible, so Gremni asks you to help them thin out the predators a little bit by killing ten of them.

The beasts are easy to find, they are pretty much all over the area just North of the Longbeards' camp. Dustquill Ravine, just to the Northwest, is positively full of them, as well.

Both Quillfang Ravagers and Quillfang Skitterers will count towards completion of this quest, so don't be discriminatory in your killing.

The Skitterers can be particularly annoying in this area. True to their names, they skitter around the area at high speeds, so you never know when one is going to sneak up on you while you're fighting one of the larger Ravagers, so keep an eye out for adds while you're fighting here.

Both types of Ravagers have over 5k hit points, and hit moderately hard. There are so many in the area you should be able to take care of ten of them relatively quickly.

Return to Gremni

Once you've taken care of them all, head back to the Longbeards' camp. Gremni is overjoyed that you've helped him with his little problem, and rewards you accordingly with nearly three gold, over 10k experience points, and some Honor Hold reputation.
