"Sniff Out the Enemy"
There are two ways to complete the quest. The first is to use the leash near one of the plaguehound cages, as instructed, and follow it as it makes its way up the coastline to the North to a suspicious-looking cave filled with a pair of Vrkyl and a big pot of stew. This is the way the quest description reads and is obviously the way the developers of World of Warcraft intended it to be done.
The second, for those who are in more of a hurry or don't care as much about following yet another strange animal to a predetermined location, is to simply hop on your mount after you've gotten the quest from Pontius and follow the coastline to the North until you find the suspicious-looking cave with the Vrkyl inside. The cave's location will show up as a question mark on your in-game map.
The method you choose to use is up to you, the end result is the same. You'll find yourself standing on a beach staring at the aforementioned suspicious-looking cave.
Pay a Visit to the Vrkyl
Once you've arrived, you'll probably notice a scroll on the ground with a giant yellow question mark above it. This is your destination. You'll probably also notice a pair of gigantic Vrkyl hanging out nearby. You'll have to take care of them before you can complete the quest by checking out the map on the floor.
You can wait until one patrols out near the entrance and pull him alone or just charge in and kill them both. Once they're gone, you can click on the map on the floor to complete the quest.
"The Dragonskin Map"
The map appears to have some significant military value, and you surmise it should be returned to High Executor Anselm immediately. Accept the quest, leave the cave, mount up, and head back to Vengeance Landing. You'll find the High Executor hanging out on horseback near the Southern edge of the settlement.
He'll check out the map and immediately decide on a course of action. You're given a follow-up task, head out to Sergeant Gorth near the lift to the West of Vengeance Landing to organize a preemptive strike against the formidable Vrkyl.
